Since October 2016

Redeeming Grace Church is a gospel-centered church plant in Pittsburgh that was started in October 2016. Since that time, it has been absolutely incredible to see God working in our midst! Our vision is not just to plant one church but to send out groups from our current congregation to plant more and more churches all around the city. We long to see God’s Kingdom advance.

Our philosophy is simple: Church planting is the most biblical and the most effective way to spread the gospel. Many missionaries do many good things, but we regard church planting as the central thing.

Moreover, we believe that the responsibility for church planting falls on churches themselves. While agencies can be quite helpful, we believe that the biblical pattern is for local churches to be leading the charge.

There are two other things about us that are important to know:

First, we strive to be a gospel-centered church. This means that we believe the gospel should influence not only our doctrinal statement but also our daily lives. We want to relate to God, one another, and ourselves in light of the gospel.

Second, we place a lot of emphasis on life in community. This means that we believe our relationships with one another can’t stop at noon on Sundays. Rather, we want to form meaningful relationships and minister to each other in substantive ways. We believe much of discipleship takes place through the “ordinary” conversations believers have throughout the week.
